The Pilgrimage Experience
This event will be a two day pilgrimage walk and overnight camp out. We will first do a labyrinth walk at St Chad's in Loves Park , Illinois and then walk to Rock Cut State Park, where we will be staying overnight in pilgrim fashion. The following day, we will walk form Rock Cut State Park to Womansapce where we will end by walking their labyrinth.
Come and experience a taste of what pilgrims would have experienced through their shared group experience of ‘communitas’. We have the small cabin reserved for the first six who sign up and anyone else will be camping tent style. Meals will be simple peasant food that will be nourishing and filling. The total walk each day is a moderate 5 miles or less and the terrain is an easy walk.
This experience is designed to give one a taste of what pilgrimage is like in a group, the walking, the labyrinth walks, the reconnection with nature, the shared community and discussion and teaching on pilgrimage as liminal space.
